CBSE-I Curriculum
NIMS-Dubai Has been approved to introduce the CBSE-I Curriculum
New Indian Model School, Dubai has been selected and approved in the Pilot Project of CBSE to start with the CBSE- i in the Gulf region. We are glad to quote that we are one of the 4 schools in Dubai selected by the CBSE to start International curriculum for the academic year 2010-11.
CBSE, keeping in view of the tremendous growth and needs of tomorrow, has launched a whole new curriculum called CBSE international where CBSE will offer an international de course based on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and the official launching of the CBSE-I in the UAE was inaugurated by Mr. Kapil Sibal, hon’ble minister for HRD, Govt. of India on Tuesday, 25th May 2010 in Dubai.
The new curriculum is not simply textbook-oriented. It is of international standard and gives a global perspective to the subjects of study. It is a more activity oriented curriculum where independent thinking is kindled and each student will be a research scholar.
It has been devised to replicate the curriculum of international boards and is aiming to grant certification on the lines of the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate (IB) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) affiliated to Cambridge University. It will help students to compete better at international level and it is believed that an IB certificate helps in getting into top international universities faster.
It is starting with one section each in grade 1 and grade 9 comprising of a maximum of 25 students each to be followed by introduction in classes II, VI, VII and X in 2011 and remaining classes in 2012.Teachers having minimum three years of experience in teaching CBSE Curriculum only will be eligible to be identified as teachers for CBSE i. Resource persons from CBSE will be sent to these schools to help them train teachers for the new curriculum. So CBSE i will be a global brand in the years to come!
