Snacks have a ‘villain’ image among the public thinking of the bad effects it can have in our body leading to obesity and related diseases. But, in reality, snacks can play an important part in your diet. A healthy snack can provide you energy in the middle of the day or when you exercise. Snacks in between your meals can decrease your hunger preventing you from overeating at meal time.
Keeping this idea, our Health Department conducted an awareness program for the students to highlight the importance of snacks in maintaining a healthy diet. Children need a wide variety of food for a well-balanced diet. The amount of physical activity they have in a day will be an important part of how much they need to eat. When children are busy and active, snacking is important to keep energy levels high.
